The apex read was right. Doug Ghim was in the final group on Sunday, sitting inside the Top 5 on the 72nd tee. A closing double bogey dropped him to -18 and into a five-way tie for sixth, one shot outside the line.
A par on the last puts him at -20, inside the Top 5, and the Top 5 position at +470 on 1.5u returns 8.55 units. That single hole swung the card from +5.77 units to -2.78 units, a difference of 8.55 units, and the Kelly ticker from roughly +339% to +303.6%.
